DESCRIPTION:Kineton is delighted to announce the second International Plugfest planned for this year in cooperation with the HbbTV Association. The Kineton Plugfest will take place from Monday\, June 23rd\, to Wednesday\, June 25th\, at the Kineton offices in Milan\, Italy. From June 25th to June 27th\, the HbbTV Testing Event and Testing Group meeting will follow. \nPlugfests provide a fantastic\, controlled platform for all participants to collaborate towards achieving interoperability and delivering an excellent user experience. \nInteroperability tests cover cutting-edge technologies such as UHD-4K/8K\, HDR\, HFR\, NGA\, HbbTV\, DVB-I and HDMI (2.0/2.1a/2.1b) interoperability with sources (STBs/streaming devices\, sound bars\, AVRs\, laptops\, encoders) and sinks (TVs\, projectors\, display monitors etc). \nThe Plugfest is open to all companies interested in testing/validating their AV products/software/content/apps interoperability & compatibility with others’ implementations. Participants include TV device manufacturers\, broadcasters\, technology providers\, platform operators\, encoder providers\, test equipment manufacturers\, research & development institutions\, standardisation bodies as well as HbbTV app\, HbbTV OpApp and DVB-I client developers. \nPlugfest Date: June 23-25\, 2025\nVenue: Kineton offices\, via Edoardo Bassini 56\, 20133 Milan\, Italy\nWho: Free for all HbbTV members. DESCRIPTION:Deutsche TV-Plattform is continuing its successful Plugfest series in cooperation with DTG UK in 2024. The 15th edition will take place from 7-11 October in Berlin at Fraunhofer FOKUS. Following the Plugfest on 7-9 October\, an HbbTV Testing Event hosted by the HbbTV Association’s HbbTV Testing Group will take place at the same venue from 9-11 October. \nThe focus of the Plugfest this time is on HbbTV\, streaming\, immersive audio and DVB-I\, as well as traditionally on UHD-HDR tests (HDMI). As always\, it is aimed at device manufacturers\, broadcasters\, technology providers\, platform operators\, research and development institutions and standardisation bodies. \nThe HbbTV Testing Event is an opportunity for HbbTV implementers to execute tests on their devices and log those executions as part of the evidence required to approve test cases for the Test Suite v2024-3 release. The representatives of test material providers will be available to discuss problems found with either the test material or implementation. He represents the BBC in several HbbTV groups and has been one of the main contributors to the new HbbTV Operator Application specification. \nJames Jackson is the Director of Technical Strategy at Everyone TV where he is responsible for the technical architecture supporting the Freeview and Freesat television platforms. His work has included leading the technical development and operation of the Freeview Play service since 2016 to build the world’s largest HbbTV platform and his current role in ensuring the technical design and delivery of the UK’s new Freely TV service. \nJeff Hunter is the Chief Architect at YouView TV Limited\, having helped to set up the business in 2010. After the Plugfest\, an HbbTV Testing Event and a Testing Group Meeting of the HbbTV Association will take place at the same venue (October 4 to 6). \nThe event is aimed at device manufacturers\, broadcasters\, technology providers\, platform operators\, research and development institutions and standardisation bodies. Please note that the participation requires an advance registration and the signature of the “Terms and Conditions of Attendance and Participation“\, which guarantees strict confidentiality. In this context\, we would like to point out that the HbbTV-related results of the Plugfest might be shared anonymously with the HbbTV Association. He is responsible for the delivery of products including its CI+ Test Tool\, Ligada HbbTV test harness and HbbTV Test Suites used around the world. Bob also represents the company in standards bodies\, in the HbbTV Association Steering Group\, CTA WAVE\, ATSC and other organisations. \nJon Piesing is the Vice-Chair of the HbbTV Association. He is also Chair of the Technical Module of the DVB Project and the Steering Committee of the CTA WAVE project. Jon\, who has been a leading figure in the development of specifications for integration of TV and interactivity for more than 10 years\, is Director\, Standardisation for TP Vision\, the manufacturer of Philips TV sets. \nDr Louay Bassbouss is Scientist and Senior Project Manager R&D at Fraunhofer FOKUS. He works on Future Web Applications\, Multiscreen Technologies & Standards\, and 5G Media Streaming. Louay actively participates in various standardisation groups in W3C\, HbbTV and CTA. He is the co-chair of the W3C Second Screen Working and Community Groups. \nYan Jiang is Senior Engineer at Resillion. Her involvements include the DPCTF WAVE project\, Device Observation Framework\, audio test content for the WAVE Device Playback test suite and the WMAS API test subset for purposes including ATSC3.0/HbbTV usage.
